“You Make Me Want to Dance” is a summer anthem where you can close your eyes and be transported to a discotheque in Ibiza. Crafted out of a groove Freekbass and keyboardist Sky White were hammering out in his Cincinnati studio, the track took a whole new life when it was fleshed out with Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds) and Rico Lewis (Parliament Funkadelic) at Color Red Studios. While funk has always been the foundation of Freekbass’ sound, underground disco has also had a profound influence on him. The night club influences are pristine through Jones’ drumming and vocals courtesy of Adryon de Leon (Orgone, Matador! Soul Sounds) and Sammi Garrett (Turkuaz). Get on your best party digs, roll the windows down, and see you on the dance floor!

“You Make Me Wanna Dance” is a track that took on a whole new feel and energy once we started to record it. As a bassist, it is a really fun song to play. Rico and his drumming skills really shine on the track too which I think listeners will really dig when they listen to it. Funk is my staple sound , but a lot of underground disco had a profound influence on me and this track feels like evidence of that."
