American composer and trumpet player, Joel Ricci, fuses minimal and spiritual instrumental melodies with earthy and unpretentious rhythmic grooves that kick up dust at the crossroads of primitive funk and vernacular jazz. As his stage/production alias, Lucky Brown, he masterfully conducts various groups of Seattle-based musicians showcasing members of Polyrhythmics, Cecil Moses & The S.G.'s and The Pulsations AKA West Seattle Soul. Dozens of his honest and raw deep funk and spiritual jazz vinyl 45RPM singles released in Europe over the past decade have cemented his worldwide reputation as a 'deep funk pioneer.'
